I started doing a zonish diet (maybe 85% compliant) begining in late January of 2006. I had a blood test done in late Dec '05, the results of which were:

Total Cholesterol ?
LDL 2.79 mmol/L
HDL 2.00
Triglyceride ?

This past July I had another one done as I was interested to see if anything had changed, results were:

Total cholesterol 5.17
LDL 2.4
HDL 2.53
Triglyceride 0.45

I was wondering if anyone out there would care to interprete them beyond my Doctor's comment that "those are fine".

Thanks, MH

I am not accustomed to the units these are measured in but LDLs down and HDLs up is good

It seems in Canada we use mmol/L, whereas the US uses mg/dL. Converting as per this page http://www.reducetriglycerides.com/r...conversion.htm yields the following:

12/05
Total Cholesterol ?
LDL 107.97 mg/dL
HDL 77.4
Triglyceride ?

7/06
Total cholesterol 200
LDL 92.88
HDL 97.91
Triglyceride 39.87

Michael, those numbers are fine :-)

Seriously, that's a good trend. Your dietary changes are working.
