finger sprain

Hi,

I got a finger sprain and obviously don't want to drop training / MMA for such a minor injury (although I drop climbing for a while).

Does taping the finger while training help? If yes, how do I tape it? On the joint directly?

Re: finger sprain

Depends on the type of sprain. Some respond well to taping with 1/2" strips between the joints of the finger (you'll see a lot a rock climbers do this), if the joint capsule is strained then taping directly over the joint will reduce motion and stress on the joint.
