I have been running into some wrist pain (mostly only in left wrist) when doing several exercises, but mostly thrusters. I don't get this pain with weight in the 65-75 lb range, but when I use 95 lb, which is the rx'd weight in most workouts involving thrusters, I get this pain. Also, I haven't injured this wrist ... it is mostly an impingement issue. My workout buddy, who has been doing CrossFit for a few years and got me into it a couple months ago, told me that I am setting the bar too far back on my hand (toward the knuckles), and that I should move it forward toward the meaty part of my hand. However, when I do this, I feel like the weight is about to fall out of my hands (I put my thumbs behind rather than in front of the bar). He told me to trust my finger tip strength and drop the weight if it is on the verge of falling out. However, throwing weights around won't go over very well at the AFB gym where we workout. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
