Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Steve that would be awesome! You don't have to bring the full rack if it's a pain, but definitely everything else.

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Jason, I have a few questions about how the CFT will be run. 1. Will each competitor be expected to complete the squat-press-deadlift sequentially,or will all competitors complete the squat, then all competitors perform the press, etc. 2. Assuming the answer is each competitor does the three movements sequentially, how much time will elapse betwwen the competitor's last squat attempt and the first press attempt? 3. How much time does a competitor have between each one of their three attempts at a particular lift? The devil is in the details! Thanks in advance.

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Please note:

If you are coming the ACF East Coast Challenge as a spectator, PLEASE purchase your spectator tickets ahead of time. There should be a link to purchase these on www.albanycrossfit.com. (safe)

Spectator tickets are $20 and include admission and participation in the Sat. night chicken and rib BBQ: a good deal! If you don't buy your tickets ahead of time, we cannot guarantee there will be food for you.

Thanks for your cooperation.....I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Susie

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

Hi Jason,

Do you have a breakdown of the affiliates that are being represented? Just curious...

Also, do you have a response for Mr. Wopat (above)...I was wondering the same thing.

Looking forward to a great event!!!

Murph

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

I don't have a breakdown of affiliates.

I'm finalizing the details of the CFT now. I want it to run as smoothly, efficiently, and fair as possible. We have 70 people doing it, so it is going to take quite some time. Ideally it will run between 9am and 1pm on Saturday. I hope to get in touch with Coach Rip and get some quality advice.

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

I have Steve and Larry down for some additional equipment. Is anyone else able to bring anything? The more equipment we have the smoother and faster everything should run.

Is anyone willing to help with judging the CFT?

Re: East Coast CF Challenge

After speaking with Coach Rip tonight I have decided to change the CFT to one lift - the Deadlift. This decision came about after reviewing the number of people that had registered for the challenge and how long it would actually take to run a successful, smooth, and safe CFT. With nearly 75 registered and running 2 racks the CFT would take nearly 8 hours to run.

I am both surprised and happy with the interest we have received for the East Coast Challenge. We here at Albany CrossFit are striving to make this a top-notch event. I am sorry if we have disappointed anyone but I truly believe that everyone will leave the East Coast Challenge 100% satisfied.

If you have any concerns don't hesitate to contact me. I made this decision now, so all participants have ample time to be ready to compete next weekend.
