I think the league minimum wage is something like $1000/yr. They won't even get a terrible crossfitter to work for those wages. Most of the CF stars own affiliates and that is their job.

I could see them attracting some good talent if they only had to show up for game day 10 times a year and paid $1000 per day plus expenses. But if they require you to live in a certain location and practice with the team multiple times per week, that would be out of the question.

Will be interesting too see.

The proposed $1000 minimum is to have a player listed on your roster. They list a separate per event minimum of $2500. So, you have to pay everyone one your team roster a minimum salary of $1000 a year, and you have to pay them a minimum of $2500 for every event in which they compete.

The schedule of the league is what surprised me the most. The "combines" to enter the draft are right in the middle of the Games season so the top level athletes will have to choose right away which path they want to go. I guess they could target Regional athletes who didn't make the Games though

Reading through the website you can tell Budding has pretty big aspirations from this league. I feel like the success of this will be largely in having good owners who are dedicated and have the finances to pay for athletes, facilities, travel and other associated expenses.
It will be interesting to see how drafting works. Presumable an owner or coach would want all the athletes on their team to live in the same city so they can train together. And that only works if you either draft local talent or pay athletes enough that they would be willing to pick up and move to the city your team resides in.

Team rogue, team fringesports, etc

Stuff in place already if someone wants it
