If a band is too long just take an extra turn or two around the bar when you choke it on there.

I got pallet bands first to experiment with then got the jumpstretch assortment, a pair of minis, lights, averages, and strongs. I use them all quite a bit.

I'm currently on the road full time and I've found the Jumpstretch band that I've brought with me to be a life saver and think it is highly underated and a must in anyones gym. I can't remember what size I got, I think light blue from Iron Woody. You can use it for some really good substitutes and just adding resistance to bodyweight exercises. Some great exercises that I do with mine are:
JumpStretch Thrusters
JumpStretch Push Press
JumpStretch Squats
JumpStretch Push-ups
JumpStretch Sumo Deadlift Highpulls

I've also made a JumpStretch benchmark day that I call "JumpStretch Jenny".
5 rounds for a time of:
5 JS push-ups
10 JS pushpress
15 JS SDHP
20 JS thrusters
25 JS squats

Today I drove to a McMaster Carr location and got a pair of the #8848T32 bands for $12. Best $12 I ever spent on exercise gear. Without any bands I can do only 3 dead hang pull ups, palms facing away. Varying the bands (using 1 or 2) and how I mount them I can do any number of pullups up to 25 at least. Easy to modulate the amountof "help" they give you. Doing a 21-15-9 protocol is finally doable for me. I'll try them on ring dips also since I have Tyler's rings, also a great purchase. Amazing how inexpensively you can buy some really useful stuff, when it is sold for another purpose!
