Carb Fest 08

I just finished my first two weeks of strict Zone and today I had an all out blow out day for carbs. In the words of Pat at the level 1 cert. in Bowling Green, I "burned that m*therf**ker down". And about an hour afterwards I went into a coma on the couch for 2 hours.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar effects from a carb loading day after strict zoning. Its pretty amazing to feel those effects for oneself, and definately supports the theory that with the zone your energy levels stay stable rather than the peak/plummet that our "normal" diets induce.

Cant wait to get back on it tomorrow.

Yup, most people experience the carb coma. Whether Zoning or on a Ketogenic Diet of some sort the carb coma can be brutal.

Shane I was right there with you in the coma - didn't even set any records in plowing carbs either. I had some birthday cake (granted it was closer to a slab than a slice) and I could feel the difference in energy fairly soon thereafter.

Pretty sure my body didn't absorb much simply because it shot through me pretty quick. Not a fun feeling.

Hehe, unfavorable carbs do that to me too. Especially when it's a mound of pancakes with a bucket-load of syrup
