It's tan. I'm guessing this is a choice to reduce surface heat compared to a black rig, when outdoor in the sun. Also, it looks pretty awesome set in the sand next to wood obstacles. I wish I could try it out....
Looks sweet. They said this morning during the athlete briefing that if you didn't finish the rope climb over a wall in the middle you aren't out of the games but you can't be on the podium.

Also said anyone that didn't finish the run/swim/run event in time cap was out of the games.

Re: 2017 Games thread

I think it's just one-way for the individuals. They run several heats like a tournament bracket. In each heat the top three athletes advance to the next round. After all heats have run, then next four fastest times of all non-qualifiers will be added to the qualifiers. Kind of like they did the last time there was an obstacle course. If they did down and back multiple times, that would really drag out the event. I think they're looking for it to be more of an all-out charge.

Looking at the description on the games page, 8 heats of 5, top 2 in each move on plus top 4 fastest that weren't in top 2 of their heat. 2nd round will be 4 heats with the winner of each heat moving to finals.

The MU clean is going to get heavy for most anyone. A few years ago 2012 only 3 guys did 350 or better.. amazing to see how far it has come in oly.

Bike race.. just going to be how fast someone can go with a good pace. Some will go out too fast and die.

I love the O coarse.. seeing the athletics of the peeps will be fun.

Triple G with the 20 reps overhead with the 100's for the men.. after all of the midline stuff.. big ask.
Hay bale clean burpee = 5 rds of 450M run + 11 sand bag cleans over a stack of hay bales then burpee over the bales.

Basically they have bales stacked 3 high I believe, so about up to your chest/neck. You pick up the sand bag (looks like a big ball or lump), throw it over the bales, then burpee and jump over the bales. Repeat for 11 total reps.

Are all the events announced now? Not sure how I feel about that if so. I really like the surprise aspect of past games.

No. Castro said there were some he wouldn't announce until the day they do them. I believe one more on Saturday, and at least the finals WOD on Sunday. Right now there is only 2 WOD's for Saturday and 1 on Sunday. Last year there were 2 on Sat and 5 on Sunday (although 3 of those were short sprint work outs).

No. They've announced 8 events and there are 13 listed on the schedule: https://assets.crossfit.com/images/g...e/schedule.png WFS

Re: 2017 Games thread

Josh Bridges in second to last place after 2 events. Really shocked by his terrible showing in event 1.
