Stall mats dirty or not?

Need to find flooring so decided on stall mats like everybody suggests...noticed a review on the tractor store website saying no matter how much they've cleaned them, they turn hands and clothes black....the worker at store said they get many returns because of this.....so I did find a few people complaining of this online but I found many people saying no problems with them.....so does this happen until you clean them enough?......I do not want to go through the hassle of buying these and be stuck with this headache. How many people actually have had this as an ongoing issue

Re: Stall mats dirty or not?

There is a large range of production techniques for these mats; bonding chemicals etc.

Hence the variation in reviews.

All you can do is test them. If the seller says they get returned, they are not the type you want.

Re: Stall mats dirty or not?

I have no problem with this on mine. I get them from a local farmers co-op.

Re: Stall mats dirty or not?

+1 for the mats at Tractor Supply Co.

My mats do not seem to get me/my clothes dirty, but I'll be darned if they don't get themselves dirty. After a few weeks your almost impossibly shiny black mats will be a dull, dingy black. I sweep and take a leaf blower to mine, but short of mopping them I don't think you can keep them looking as-new. I'll take soap and water to the mat I use most for ground based exercises (it's just me training in my garage).

Re: Stall mats dirty or not?

Also got ours from Tractor Supply +1

They do seem to get hands, knees, shirts, etc a little dirty especially when combined with sweat, but I've never encountered permanent staining or anything. After a shower & clothes wash, all is good again.
