Re: Help a teen in need

Welcome Mandeep!

http://board.CrossFit.com/showthread.php?t=38312 (W/F/S)
Check that out, its a post that has a ton of bodyweight workouts. All it requires is a place to do pullups(local park with monkeybars, swingset etc.) a jumprope, and some rings. If you have a little money saved up you could get the rings and jumprope for under $100.

If you are working and have a little more money saved up you can buy or build other things such as medicine balls, slosh pipes(PVC pipes sealed with water in them) kettlebells, etc.

You can get started quite nice off of that bodyweight workout list though, enjoy

Re: Help a teen in need

Mandeep,
I suggest you start with the "start here" section on crossfit.com and the FAQ as well. Also, you should probably also choose a new avatar asap, before you find yourself on an unplanned vacation from the message boards.

Re: Help a teen in need

Post some stats about yourself, height/weight/bodyfat percentage/current nutrition.

Everybody has to start somewhere, period. It is not important where you start but where you finish, in time, you will finish by doing the WOD as the main site prescribes. To reach that though you need to have that fire inside you to push through anything difficult, and discipline in your nutrition.

For pushups, do them on your knees, or do inclines, keep doing them till you have one regular, once you have one, do them until you have two, etc. For your pullups, get under the bar and do jumping pullups, also get something to help you step above the bar, step off and let yourself down slowly, but same concept, do that till you get one, then two, etc.

CrossFit BrandX posts scaled-down versions of the mainsite's Workout Of the Day ranging from beginner levels to the full WOD as posted.

It's at: http://www.crossfitbrandx.com/index..../viewforum/16/

Re: Help a teen in need

Crossfit Kids and/or BrandX! Start at the lowest level and move up when it feels pretty easy.

Read the FAQ located here

wfs
http://www.board.crossfit.com/xfitfaq.php

It lists a lot of substitutes as well as many of the other questions and more you'll probably think of.

Also, go to the mainpage and click on "Start here" and then read both the "Start here" section as well as the "Nutrition" section as well. This will give you a fairly good base of knowledge before you need to ask anymore questions.
