Jackie went *boom* on me

So, I've seen many mentions of people nailing themselves in the chin on thrusters. I managed to do the opposite tonight in the middle of Jackie. 3rd thruster, I jerked the bar down too fast and nailed myself in the forehead.

No blood, but did get a little woozy there for a minute and almost lost the bar. Nice bump and red spot on my shaved head.

One of the guys at our box that hasn't done Jackie yet asked for strategy tips. My answer? Don't set a 10-second PR on the row (doh!) and don't knock yourself out (literally) on the thrusters and you'll be fine. Finished in 9:51 which was a little slower than my goal, but still a PR. All things considered, I'll take it.

looks like you needed a knock on the head for moivation...

Just the thought of that happening makes cringe. Glad you're physically alright though.

Unfortunately, the extra motivation it provided was gone with the next half dozen or so thrusters. Jackie wiped me out even more than my similarly-timed Fran a few weeks ago. Took a good 20 minutes to even start feeling recovered.
