Custom shoes - your logo on Olympic weightlifting shoes

First post, have been lurking for a little bit. Great info here - appreciate all of it as I stumble through this stuff called CrossFit. Really enjoying it.

Anyhow, was reading about Olympic weightlifting shoes and came across a pair I liked the look of. But I was told they were out of production but that they had some options, including doing custom designed shoes - yes, two different colors and you can have your logo embroidered onto them. I thought this might be cool to share with y'all. Volume discount too for group orders.

Here is what Gwen wrote back to me:

The base model is choice of two colors in the upper, one strap, and name
embroidered on strap.

A full logo is about $10 more. And, we do offer group discounts- e.g., a few
pairs of custom shoes for their team or gym with their logo embroidered on it.

For a specific example, we can do 2 straps, a full logo, custom heel, custom
color for $150.

Check out the custom designs on her blog. Some cool stuff. I'm digging the single strap versions, maybe all black with some yellow accenting - like the Rugby Green one but change the green to black. Hmm... I think the single strap is cheaper too - I will follow up.

Seems like it is a reasonable price for a custom shoe. I'm not affiliated in any way with this product - just wanted to share.

Thanks again for all the info on this site.

Mike

That's actually pretty cool. If funds weren't an issue and if I didn't have a perfectly good pair of Adistar's, I'd be ordering some with the superman logo on them.

thanks for posting that!

Quick update - single strap, text only, still have color options - $120. Confirm with Gwen though. Seems like a good deal for a custom item. Kinda fun too. Price doesn't include shipping ($10-$12).

Superman logo... nice. How did you ever come up with that idea?

Some info regarding sizing from Gwen:

I would go by your sizing in regular athletic shoes such as Nike, Adidas, new balance etc.

The shoes have a spacious toe box, so you could go closer to a 10 vs 10.5. Based on your emails, I would send you an EU 42 (normal size 10 is a 43, we run 1 EU size big).

Sounds like they're good for wider feet.

I'm currently having a custom pair designed for my girlfriend. Will post pictures/reviews as soon as I get them!

Cool! I've got mine all ordered up. Figure could pay $75-$110 for some of the regular shoes or do a custom setup for $120. I like the fact that they were designed and are worn by some serious weightlifters (which I hardly am but slowly getting more into).

Re: Custom shoes - your logo on Olympic weightlifting shoes

Just send Gwen an e-mail to start the process. She is very responsive.

gsisto@mit.edu

There are no design templates that I'm aware of so you either need to do a mockup yourself with photoshop (that's what I did) or be very specific in the colors/logos/etc. She will let you know costs/feasibility/etc.

If you need help with the mockup let me know - send me a PM. I can whip it up pretty quickly if it is based on one of the photos that she has on her site. I used the silver base on the Patriots shoe for mine and then just changed the colors to the ones I wanted. Don't expect a masterpiece but at least she'll have a design to work from.

Re: Custom shoes - your logo on Olympic weightlifting shoes

Is it possible to just say "i want a white shoe with black insoles with a logo of [logo name] on the back"

would that be easier?
