Thanks Vic, fighting on in hope 17.5 is doable for me. I'm not risking increasing the level of the injury, but if it's not ring muscle ups or more pull ups I should be able to register something.

Re: A Bears Tale

20 March 2017

Open 17.4 redo

13 minute amrap:

55 Deadlifts 102k - 1.21 40/15
55 Wall Balls - 3.51
55 Cal Row - 6.49
55 HSPU - 11.20

252 reps - 32 deadlifts into the 2nd round

Split the hspu into small fast sets 5/4/5/4/4/4/4/4/3/3/3 etc not adding it up exactly. No missed reps this time. Feel totally destroyed in the posterior chain.

Re: A Bears Tale

I've soaked in bath salts, feeling a bit better.. Still can't eat. Have a problem with going really hard and my stomach. 5 hours now and still not accepting food.

Thanks guys, hoping for something I can do so I can finish this open.

Re: A Bears Tale

Looks like fake Grundler's making up some pretty unbelievable scores this open. I would pay to watch he's 55 hspu on 17.4. Funny that the only video that has been watched from he's open and masters qualifers has been penalised. 28 workouts over 3 years and they watch one. It gets a penalty which means it was very very bad as it would have to be considering some that I have seen get through without penalty. I've seen what he can do and it's heavy weights only. He's conditioning is nowhere near the standard he posts on the lighter load bodyweight workouts.

If you send in a video and it is penalised you should be liable to send in videos for the rest of the time you compete.

I'm rubbish at heavy squat snatch hence I am now in a very bad position to get back to the games. I injured my chest again on the repeat of that workout hence a 310th finish. Now that's how it goes, that's sport. Bad luck to me. I bet in another household someone would put there arm around crying Grundler and say "lets put a better score in honey bunn I know you could do it really"..

Re: A Bears Tale

I think there are allot of Bro Reps all over the place.

The difference today is that there is money involved at the end for those that win which makes pepople more inclined to (not cheat) but be given Bro Reps to help them through.

I wish i could have gotton just 1 HSPU... but next year will be no problem...

He'd need more than a few bro reps to get he's score. Maybe ignore a whole standard and accidentally go from 34 to 55 counting error

Standards are dipping as the pool of people grows. See videos without the hspu box lines, no burpee box jump lines, people extra stepping through the lunges, even one bloke jumping from a hidden box to get bar muscle ups, you could hear him landing back on it.

Re: A Bears Tale

There is no doubt in my mind that Open scores judged at the affiliate get a rep here or there as the benefit of the doubt.

I video's all of my stuff in 2011, 2012, 2014 (when I was trying for Regionals) and then in 2015 as submissions and have never had a rep taken away.

Dude the fact that you gutted out a redo on 17.4 is crazy given a torn pec muscle.

Hoping 17.5 goes well. Still 4 more events in the qualifier to go for you. Heavy snatches should be out. I would bet some money on a heavy (or max) C and J.
