Re: Bring Sally Up

Did it with 135# yesterday and missed 4. 2 during the song and the last two. Def a fun/hard thing to do with everyone.

That would legally be tourture I think.

Yeah, got to remember that if Froning did it at 135, that we normal people would need to scale it down.

Re: Bring Sally Up

Did this last week Rx'd. Definitely a leg burner...but doable. It was fun.

I tried this last night with pushups. The difference was I actually tried doing it with my 40 lb wgt vest on. I got to about 1/2 of the song then I started collapsing. HAHA. Definitely failed with the vest on. wtf was I thinking. I finished it off but it was pretty brutal on my wrists and shoulders....suprisingly my chest was okay.

I'm gonna keep trying to do it with a vest and one day should hope to pull it off. that's my goal at least.

Re: Bring Sally Up

Second that ^^^

I was mostly fine until the a capella "bring sally up" part started. Then it I was just telling myself to make it to the end. A couple in that range I may have gone down a second or so after the command :P

Only reason i did it is cause the cute single girl wanted to do it after oly lifting.
Damn good reason. I would do the same thing in your scenario.

Did it earlier this week on Monday evening. I kinda wanted to do it anyways so I ended up doing it at my friend's box with the group instead of back off squats.

I literally squatted up to 365 in 7 reps, missed 375, deloaded and we did Bring Up Sally. This was after cleans for triples ( as I did snatches for triples around noon ).

TBH, I missed towards the end so either held the bottom or top instead of dumping it. Who knew 3:16 could last so long. I guess I could have skipped the BS but I rather would get my WL programming in than this WOD as a focus. The CF class finished with doing a WOD with MU and Farmer's walks.

Some people did it with pushups or DB or a loaded stick as they weren't ready for bars and bars were scarce with so many people. One young marine did it with pushups because he had already done a barbell and burpee WOD earlier.

95# thrusters sounds light. Might be something I might do on Saturday for conditioning. Would "up" position be overhead or in a front rack?

I vote overhead. There is more time spent in the down position than the up, so I don't think there would be much time to return to front rack and have much of a pause there. Holding the down would be bottom-of-the-squat front rack position. Have fun with that!

I was thinking about that, all the people who don't like the song and get stuck squatting or what ever to it.
