Overall - Snatches are gradually getting better but they still need a tonne of work. The 105 was a total press out. Clean and jerks were feeling pretty good until I hit 135. I failed 3 times, got it up on the 4th attempt but it was ugly and I would have like to have shown more control at the top before I dropped it. I'll do it again next week. The cool thing is that 135 was my old clean PR and I cleaned it up fairly easily 4 times. And even though it was ugly, it's still pretty cool that I got it overhead.

Double Unders were a total suck fest - not sure if it was cause I was tired from the previous work or what. I'm not happy that Tony beat me on double unders. GGRRR! I better get more practice in.

Thanks Anthony. My mob's training's coming just fine, though there've been some hiccups.

Chris recently closed out a strength cycle; despite wimping out when things started to get heavy, and not eating half enough, he's squatting nearly double body weight for reps. As per our plan, he's now focusing on applying that strength to his rowing training ... doing one 5X5 lifting motion/day before diving onto the erg.

Nat's back at gymnastics, with a couple of days of CF on the side. He's really enjoying training P-bars, back handsprings and the vault. As ever, he has his most fun while upside down.

My own training's back on track too - lifts climbing again, and I'm shadowing Chris on the C2 ... may try some on-the-water rowing this Summer. My focus over the winter will be my abysmal pressing.

Looking forward to hearing how you two make out in PEI!

The last two days I've been feeling off - tired, dizzy, cranky - so I wasn't expecting much. Turns out to be a wicked day - speed felt EXCELLENT. The speed deadlifts were on fire right from the start - very happy with this considering last week took awhile to warm up. I played around with some different tension afterwards and I think I'll switch to the averages for my speed work and just add a bit more bar weight. The short-heavy was ridiculous ... got the 620 to my knee and then it pulled back hard ... wow! It will be awhile before I use those for anything. Squats were ridiculously fast as well - let's hope it carries over for a 505 on Tuesday.

Yep....I still hate SLDLs. haha! Maybe because it's exposing a weakness??? nah...couldn't be. haha! They're just hard as heck. Speed work felt pretty good though. Everything feels light after SLDLs. I love that part!!!

First time having 500+ on my back. Felt good. The depth was borderline, but good enough that I can work with it at the meet. Hit a sticking point in the middle but managed to grind it out. I'm close to a max for sure, but I'll save it for Nationals. Let's see how next weekend goes first!
