Snowed in!!!

So I am at home, Bellevue WA, visiting family for the holiday season and it has dumped almost 9 inches today! How are all you Washingtonians doing with the intense snow???

Re: Snowed in!!!

Well not in Washington but in Oregon and found that its really hard to run on an icy road!!! I have never witnessed it being so freaking cold in Oregon and I grew up here.

Wow, Al Gore was right about that global warming stuff.

We've also found that that subject turns "political" pretty fast (you can see the ugliness on the main page every time it comes up), so we'll just not talk about it here, thanks.

Re: Snowed in!!!

Here in the Spokane/Northern Idaho area we received the most snow ever in a 24 hour period. While shoveling 18 inches of snow out of my drive at 5:00 am and 10 degrees yesterday morning (snow still coming down), I had to remind my self that I'm still better off than some places.

Re: Snowed in!!!

I live in Los Angeles. It rained all day Wednesday and was really cold, like 50 degrees. It was so cold and wet in fact that it made me skip crossfit and turn on my heater for the first time all year. I don't own an umbrella and I got wet, winter sucks!

HAHA try living in Canada!
It's about -40C = -40F here in Lethbridge, AB when I get up to go to CrossFit.
We have had snow fall everyday since Nov 30. There is no such thing as a "snow day" or being "snowed in" here.

Re: Snowed in!!!

My garage gym is detached and man do the KB's, barbells and pullup bars kill the hands! Usually in the Pacific NW it is no biggie, but it is topping out around 25 or 26 in the garage lately. Filled my propane and cut a bunch of kindling today because the winds may be coming this weekend! AUGH!

Re: Snowed in!!!

I was snowed in today in Darien CT!

I luckily have a 20 lb dynamax ball in my apartment, so I knocked out this WOD:
7 med ball squat cleans
7 burpees
15 rounds.
and then I chased my puppy down the hallway a few dozen times.
"runs a mile under 5 min, and walks on her hands 122 meters without stopping...upside down or rightside up..shes unreal!"
