Re: PreWod...

used to take jack3d and neurocore.

They might be helpful for strength sessions. I found that they just got me too jittery or hyped up and I'd feel like crap.

Now I occasionally take a scoop of amino energy (ON) and maybe some airborne or emergen C mixed in. Weird I know, but gives me a little boost, and clears me up a bit.

Re: PreWod...

I use my own concoction of caffeine, CGT-10, Emergen-c, and a little bit of an energy drink for weight training. For conditioning oriented workouts, however, the caffeine gets my heart rate too high and/or might make your stomach feel weird so it doesn't work out too well. So really in my opinion it depends on the nature of the WOD, your view on what you put into your body, and your tolerance to caffeine....

Re: PreWod...

I try to stay away from pre-workouts unless I am absolutely drained before going into a workout. When I take them, I really like Jack3d and Muscle Pharm Assault. If you want to save your money and have similar effects, drink espresso pre-wod. I find that works too.

Re: PreWod...

I intentionally vary my pre-WOD meals and activities - I think of it as a "be prepared for anything" mentality. I usually work out in the morning, so sometimes I won't have anything except water, other times I'll have some vegetables, other times some carbs. Sometimes coffee, sometimes not. Sometimes I'm well rested, other times I've only had a few hours of sleep. The only thing I always do is hydrate...

Re: PreWod...

Hi Mate,

I have a black tea and eat a teaspoon of Manuka honey. I am only new at this but I find it helps my energy and concentration after a long day.

Cheers,

Paul.
