If I was going there, there is no way I would miss getting some world class Oly coaching... two gyms to choose from out there (both are wfs)

RedRocks Crossfit was Great! Training with an Olympic athlete/Elite Level Coach is something you don't get to do everyday. Dude represented the US in the freaking Olympics and has coached some of the best Olympic Weightlifters out there...

I can't beleive Paul isn't doing Olympic Lifting Training for Crossfit Affiliates all over the country...I think once word gets out that he is available he is going to be a very busy man...

I posted a summary of my expereince on my Traveling Road Show thread if anyone is interested...

California

Flying into LAX and driving down to San Diego. Anywhere between the two could work, but closer to San Diego might be better.

Go see Aushion at CFSD.

Otherwise - stop in Balboa and see John Welbourn for some strength work (CFFB), or Brian Mackenzie in Newport Beach for some endurance training.

San Francisco -- downtown or SoMa preferred.

I'm doing an oly-specific program right now, so mostly need a space with open gym time and suitable equipment.

Thanks!

If I were going to SF - regardless of my goals - I'd hit CFSF to get some training from K Starr.

It is near the Presidio, so not near SOMA, but easy to get there by public transit.

Sean...CFSD seems like a good bet and you have been right on the money with your suggestions so far.

there are so many affiliates in that area it's hard to pick one without a recommendation from someone to make sure you are taking full advantage of the trip and getting the best training experience you can...

CFSF and Cal Strength are both high on my list. Unfortunately, the priorities of the people paying for the trip may not allow me enough time to get there. So I'm looking for closer alternatives.
