Hey Guys,

Just a quick note for those looking for equipment for the home gym. Again Faster has teamed up with Gill Athletics to bring you their entire catalog at a discount.

In addition to the Again Faster Bar, we now have barbells, bumper plates, kettlebells, dumbbells, d-balls, ProMax Rings, and just about anything else you would want. We also have Coach Rip's "Starting Strength" and Coach Rut's Dumbbell Moves DVD.

Anytime you're thinking about making a purchase, check with us. You may like what you find.

The Gill Athletics at Again Faster site is here: http://againfastergill.blogspot.com/index.html

You can email me anytime with inquiries, questions, or just to talk: jon@againfaster.com.

Thanks for the support!

Best,

Jon

Travis,

Unfortunately, my agreement with Gill prevents me from posting actual prices and exact discount rates. It's a quirk in the deal, but certainly one we can work around.

The discount is very worthwhile, and the exact amount depends on the item. The discount is larger for multiple-item orders and certain higher-volume items.

If you'd like a quote on any Gill item, shoot me an email at jon@againfaster.com.

The entire PowerMax Catalog is posted on my site at: http://www.againfastergill.blogspot.com. It's in the right-hand column.

There's a ton of CF-worthy stuff, including rings, dynamax balls, kettlebells, bumpers, barbells, plyo boxes, medicine balls, d-balls, etcetera.

We can ship it most anywhere.

Best,

Jon

Sure, Travis. Email anytime.

I'm working on putting together a "home gym" package for Crossfitters new to the game or looking to dump their gym membership and set up in the garage.

The idea is to make it so you don't have to order from sixteen different vendors to get a good setup together. Ultimately, you'd save a ton on shipping, and you'd take advantage of our Community discount.

Ideally, it would have everything you need for a majority of the WODs. I'm thinking:

PowerMax Rings
A Pro Power Barbell
A pair of 45-pound bumpers
A pair of 25-pound bumpers
300 pounds of PowerMax plates
A 1.5 pood PowerMax KB
A pair of 30-pound dumbbells
A Dynamax Ball
A 20-pound D-ball
and of course, an Again Faster Bar for the pull-ups.

What would you guys like to see in such a package? We have a ton of equipment at our disposal through Gill, so the possibilities are pretty endless.

I'd appreciate any feedback!

Best,

Jon

My opinion, skip the metal plates and just do bumpers. You can use bumpers for bench press, but not plates for olympic lifting. Rings would be a nice addition. The 1 pood KB is nice for beginner men high rep work. You won't be able to please everyone and most needs will differ, so maybe a "build-your-own" package would work well.

Or, tiers. A starter's/cheapskate package, with the bare, bare essentials (like rings, a kb, medicine ball, jump rope). From there, a "newbie" package (bar, bumpers).

Could even have it so they can get A, or A + B, A + B + C, etc. (sorry if this is cryptic, I'm typing fast...)

Jon,

I think a Women's package might work.
Training 5 or 10kg bar
5, 10 and 15kg bumpers
14lb Dynamax
12lb D-ball
12 or 16kg kettlebell

I know there are plenty of women here that don't scale down and I'm not trying to suggest that anyone should, but realistically, this weight scale probably makes sense to some and would be more practical. David

Great ideas! We'll definitely get at least four packages together:

Male Newbie
Female Newbie
Male Firebreather
Female Firebreather

Of course, they'll all be customizable one way or the other, but the price points will be fairly close.

There are economies of scale at work that make it worthwhile to put a lot of gear together in one order. You save on shipping, and I can give you a bigger discount!

Anything else folks would like to see included in the packages? The jumprope was definitely one I missed. I've got a pretty good idea of what folks need based on my day-to-day experiences in the training trenches, but the input has been fantastic. Thanks for the help!

I hope we can get everybody the quality stuff they need to reach firebreather status as cheaply as possible. This is going to be great!

Best,

Jon

Man this is great.

I'm new to this and finally getting my wife interested as well.

A "newbie male" package would be ideal for me!!
