Snatch

Hi all. I'd like some pointers. I'm posting two links of videos of a squat snatch. I'm mostly self taught in my garage. I had some coaching while I was travelling and dropping in to a couple boxes.
Thanks for your pointers.

Re: Snatch

Not a bad start.

The big thing is you need to extend your hips a little faster once the bar gets past the knees. They are staying back too long and so keeping the bar close to your body naturally makes it loop in, then when you do extend the hips the bar loops out.

Re: Snatch

Thanks Jeff. I just saw your reply. I saw a good coaching video about full and fast hip extenstion and started back at the basics to practice full hip extension - Medicine ball cleans, then some drills doing cleans with the bar - focusing on hip extension. I've felt some difference with the snatch.

Re: Snatch

The bar is going around the knees on the first pull. You want to have the bar sweeping into your body, not moving away. Also, slow down the start a little so you can have more acceleration through the middle of your body as the weight gets heavier.

Re: Snatch

Arms are bending early. That back could not be more rounded at the setup.
