Collar Bone Pain

I have dull pain and it is very tender to the touch where the collar bone and sternum meet. (Throat area) Is it possible I have tendon or ligament damage and will it go away with rest? Is it a serious problem?

Re: Collar Bone Pain

How do your cleans and presses look? I think this is a very common area that gets tender when doing these exercises improperly.

My best guess is that it will heal if you stop doing whatever was causing it in the first place. Are you catching cleans with your elbows high? Are you pressing with the bar up against your throat and resting the bar on your shoulders in the front rack position?

Re: Collar Bone Pain

Thanks, Sean, you caught my age. I'm getting more and more of that. BCAAs help alittle.

Daniel, my form is good for an old fart. I have had a large volume of PC's Front Squats and bar muscle ups lately.

Thanks for the input guys!

Re: Collar Bone Pain

Good stuff, I find that cleans and front squats really aggravate that area. Good luck, let me know how it goes.
