Excuses to avoid CF
I've come to find that these are the two most common answers from men and women.
Men - I need to train before I start that. Women - I don't want to bulk up and get huge. http://findfit.tumblr.com/post/57391...avoid-crossfit I guess it can go for any kind of fitness or dedication to physical fitness. What are some random responses you have gotten? |

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
1) Too expensive (I feel like this is the biggest one for sure)
2) Risk of injury 3) For men - not enough focus on building muscle 4) For women - too much focus on building muscle |

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
It is expensive for many of us and in my case where we've gone from only me doing it to myself, son, daughter, and wife doing it in 4 months time, it has required a revamp of the budget. At other times in life I wouldn't have been able to do it.
I put it off for some time with the idea I wasn't in good enough shape to do Crossfit. A few class members from the box talked to me and then the coach and that was all it took from there. |

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
Which is kind of sad, as it totally depends on where you are and whether or not you're looking at the overall cost rather than just getting sticker shock. For example, for me the CF Affiliate is actually cheaper than most of the Globos in the area (NYC, so Crunch, Equinox, etc), especially when you factor in how much they charge for training.
The biggest excuses I've heard have been: 1. Dangerous (i.e. you'll hurt yourself) 2. Worries about bulking (women) 3. Fear of the competitive factor |

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
Love the post. I shared the Crap out of it on social media. This is my wife's main excuse for wanting to do zumba after she gets cleared from giving birth to our son last week. Zumba. Really? After I turned our garage into an elite fitness center. Better believe I emailed/texted/facebooked/tweeted her the link.

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
there are actually reasons to avoid crossfit. i am not bashing crossfit. but to call any reason a person might have an excuse is silly. some men want to be big and strong and some women don't. some people want to run cross country ultra marathons. some people don't have the money. there are many valid reasons to do crossfit, and there are many valid reasons not to do crossfit

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
i especially like to hear that crossfit is too expensive from buddies who will spend $100 or more every weekend at their local bar/club while searching for female companionship.

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
Yeah. "It's too expensive" or, "too intense, I couldn't do that" are the main ones I've heard.

Re: Excuses to avoid CF
I'll be blunt; it doesn't appeal to me anymore, nor does it match my goals.
