sore hip flexors from low bar squats?

HI guys, I do below-parallel low bar squats (with the 2008 Adidas Adistar olympic shoes)...is it normal for my hip flexors to be sore?

I was trying to do the squat stretch (WFS):

And it's hurting a lot from soreness near the groin...I'm pretty sure its where the hip flexors are that the soreness is....? or is it the adductors? (i just squatted two days ago...5/3/1, high volume) I'm pretty sure its the hip flexors because its only on the inner side of the groin right where my femurs meet my hips

Soreness is different to tightness, I'm going to guess that you're getting an impingement feeling?

If you recently switched your technique it is very common to get sore.

When I first learned how to squat "properly" (below parallel, knees tracking over toes, weight on heels, etc) I was sore in new places, because my adductors and glutes weren't used to being used for stability in squatting. It'll get better in time.

If your hip flexors get sore while squatting that tends to mean your hamstrings are too tight or your hip flexors are tending to cramp up (because of various reasons) because of the above. Sometimes both.

Hip flexor mobility has already been covered... stretch your hammies out some too
