it is the athletes personal responsibility to know what medications/substances are banned.... there are many athletes to are subjected to a ban for taking a banned substance in ignorance.
it would behoove all athletes to read up on the WADA rules and regs. there is also a list of banned substances. If CF wishes to continue to promote itself as a sport then inevitably CF will need to adhere to WADA rules. again i say ignorance is no defence especially when you promote yourself as an elite athlete. h |

I understand that in a sport that you can win money that people will try anything to get an advantage, I also know that it take moral fiber to let your yes be yes and no be no, and stand for what is right even when it is hard. It wouldn't surprise me if people tried to get away with cheating. But that conviction is not fact. Neither is your statement. Speculation but not fact.

As someone who turned 50 this year, and has been Crossfitting now for 2-1/2 years, when I hear of anyone in my bracket that can train twice a day on a regular basis, well that's simply suspicious to me. Not automatic, but on the radar. You can't fool Mother Nature for long.

Regardless of age, if a well conditioned athlete's sleep and diet are on point, training twice a day shouldn't be that big of a deal. Not like it is news, but sleep and diet are as powerful tools for performance and recovery as anything.
I think masters age athletes should train as much as anyone. Perhaps they should be mindful of volume and intensity but the more you keep moving the better off you are. At 48, I tend to seize up and feel crappy if I take too many days off. Of course, I only train WLing. |
