Cravings after big meals...

When I eat what I consider to be a healthy lunch or dinner consisting of salad, protein (chicken or salmon etc) and nuts and fruit for dessert I always feel completely unsatisfied. My stomach is full but I have that more-ish/craving feeling in my mouth like I need to eat more food. Does anyone else have this problem or am I a freak?

Re: Cravings after big meals...

how long have you been eating like this? If it has only been a short while you are going to still be having those cravings. But they do go away.

On the other hand if you have been eating clean for over a month you might want to try eating your fruit first or leave out the fruit if its not a meal after your WOD. Eating more fat will help you feel more satisfied as well.

Just a short while so there's my answer. I have always been on carb heavy bodybuilding type diets and have recently switched to something healthier with no complex carbs and more fruits and veggies. I don't adhere to any strict diet plan like Zone or Paleo but the consensus that complex carbs have a negative affect on the body is something I agree with so i'm trying to eat based on that principal.

I think that's more likely the issue.

It will pass.

Give it a week or so and you'll be good. That's how I felt when I first started the Paleo diet. I'd recommend checking that out too, because once you get passed the first tough part you'll love how you feel and how food that never satisfied you before tastes amazing (vegetables).
