Joint creaking
Hey what's up, started crossfit about three weeks ago, been following the wod's exactly. I am 30 years old, have little injuries, i guess. I have been involved in many different action sports in my time. Been working pretty intensely for about 10 years now. I get the normal soreness, usually second day after and so forth, but even when i stretch good, i get some cracking in my back and shoulders. Is that normal? On hang cleans, it hurts my wrist. Is it just cause i am not use to the crossfit clean exercises and my wrists are getting stronger, or is this bad? Sorry for the long thread

You are just getting old, its all down hill from here, but don't let that stop you. :-)
Cleans can/do hurt the wrist in the beginning, but it should get better, have your form checked to be sure you are not going to continue to damage anything if your are not executing the lifts properly. Pain can be from the normal stresses of the lift (if its new to you), or from doing something wrong. |

My guess its a form issue with tight shoulders. When the bar is in rack position, the fingers have no need to be tight around the bar unless you are repositioning for the jerk.

Yeh, i really need to work on flexibility. My shoulders are really tight,inflexible. I am a very active in the past and present 30 yr old. So the back popping, creaking when i wake up or right when i warm up is normal
