Found one used on Craig's List. The seller is asking for $900. These are $1000 new plus shipping, aren't they? His starting price was $1000 and I offered $850, but he says the very minimum is $900.

To splurge or not to splurge?

When I go to the Concept II site and put a model D with PM3 monitor in my shopping cart it comes to $850 + $40 shipping for a total of $890.

With the PM4 monitor it bumps the price to $1000 +shipping.

I was just wondering if his price in particular was even worth it. Is it worth it to get the used one, when only $100 more would get me a new one with PM4?

Don't even bother with that one, there are hundreds and thousands of them in the world, wait for another or just pay a tiny bit extra and get a brand new one.

Yeah, I picked up 2 from Craigslist that were nearly in new condition with P3 monitors for $700 and I probably could have done better than that if I'd been more patient.

Hey Elliot, A model D with a pm3 monitor is $850.00 plus $40 s/h. A model D with a PM4 is $1000 plus $40 s/h brand new from Concept2. If you want to talk to a Crossfiter just call and ask for Greg I will answer any questions you have and tell you if you are getting a good deal if you buy someone's used one. Gotta say, I don't like my C2 model A...because it's so fun to row on my wife won't let me take it out of the house to the rest of the equipment!
No really, I love it...my mother even wants to buy one! I said that we could trade and she could have the model 'A'
Do you know anything about a drag factor for a model 'A'? I know that the monitor doesn't tell you what it is...Do you know what the equivalent damper setting would be between my model 'A' and a sweet-@$$ Model 'D' or 'E'?

Getting back on track about pricing out a rower...I got a little jacked for my model 'A'...paid $300 for the machine, and then got the PM3 retrofit. So nearly $500...for a bomb-proof 20 year old machine...little over priced, but it was worth it to me. Almost got a Model C for $600, but my call was too late
I suck but I still post to the rankings...
I like the new software for the PM3...it's nice just being able to select the WOs and rank 'em.
