At my supermarket, I can get green, red, yellow and even orange peppers... in that order of price with the orange ones costing more than twice as much as the green peppers.
For a long time I have been buying a variety of colours, thinking that their chemical composition is likely to be different. And I recall reading somewhere that you should mix up the colour of your food, lest it all be green. Is this correct, or am I just wasting my money? |

Red - High in vit A and C

My brother's girlfriend took a nutrition course at her university. I borrowed and skimmed through most of her textbook. One of the few things I recall from that experience is that they recommended one eat varied colors of fruits and veggies. I think they recommened one shoot for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white. I may have missed or added a color due to the fact that it has been like a year since this happened.

Therefore, individuals wanting to avoid pesticide-associated health risks may want to avoid consumption of bell peppers unless they are grown organically. |
