Back squats and Patella Femoral Syndrome

Been doing CrossFit about a year and a half and can go deeper than when I started, but I'm wondering back squatting with heavy weights is helping my knees or hurting them. Been to see lots of PT's and other bodyworkers enough to understand the mechanics of where the misalignment is. I do lots of stretching and strengthening to try and correct this. Just wondering what other folks with this issue have found...would love to not be in pain someday.

Lots and lots of foam rolling of your quadriceps and it band, plus lots of glute activation and hip extension work.

I would sub squats for lunges, deadlifts, good mornings, and pullthroughs till things clear up.

Just make sure to balance your training(push/pull) once things go back to normal, and keep up on your mobility/flexibility in the entire hip and leg region.

Read this wfs

Postural/movement corrections in section 3, and soft tissue work in section 4.

Proper technique with Squat/DL helps.

Sitting, shoes.. as referenced in the above link... obviously hurt. Poor technique hurts. Caving knees hurts.
