Re: Tommy V

1 rope climb = 15 towel pull-ups, I believe.

It seems like every other workout is a new hero WOD these days.

Re: Tommy V

Oooh, that was a bad call getting me to read the FAQ. It's 15 towel pull-ups, not 5.

You should read the rest of the FAQ, too. Good stuff and it'll answer a lot of your questions.

Re: Tommy V

I'll accomplish that long before a single 115# thruster. Anyways, the sub isn't really accurate since the feet can provide a great deal of assistance in the rope climb but none in the pull-up unless you count the kip.

Re: Tommy V

I'm with Frank. Tommy was a hell of a guy, but there's no way poppa's doing 405 towel pull-ups. I prefer to finish my workouts on the day they start.

Re: Tommy V

I think the 115lb. thrusters with weight pullups is a pretty fair deal. Kind of like a heavy "Fran".

Re: Tommy V

Blocks on what I can see at work mean I can't see the demos for rope climb or towel pull-ups. I thought the rope climbs were without using feet, and that towel pull-ups were, well, pull-ups gripping a towel draped over a bar. 405 pull-ups in one workout are impossible for me, let alone 405 gripping a towel (and I suspect quite a few others would be the same - not all, but plenty). That makes me assume my previous understanding of what is involved in these exercises was wrong - so time to look at the demos.

A question though which the demos may not answer - when it says "15' rope climb" where do you measure the 15' from? Ground to top? Starting hand position to top?
