Re: 30 Muscle Ups - standings

I suppose he gains something by taking the negative out of each rep. I do prefer chained reps myself, though.

Re: 30 Muscle Ups - standings

I started taking the negatives out of my reps too.. I'm just saying. Chained even without the negative feels much, much better than doing singles like that. I dunno. Maybe it's the longer rest break that's better.

Re: 30 Muscle Ups - standings

I agree with Steven. I've tried the single rep approach before and hated it. Went triples last time (but with too much rest between sets) and completely destroyed my previous time. I'm going to stick with triples, cut the rest, and give Steven a run for his money. Granted, mine won't be as pretty as his, but I don't care.

Re: 30 Muscle Ups - standings

I like the idea of doing 5's but of course I'm not there yet. I usually do 5 the first set then drop to 4 and then triplets, then usually doubles for the last 6-8.

Re: 30 Muscle Ups - standings

Anyone have thoughts on the pro's and con's of skipping the negative? Seems like it would be much easier in terms of muscle and harder in met-con. I might just try it because the negative is usually what trashes my wrists.

4:25 (1:53 faster than last time)

Felt great until the last 6 and then had to fight hard. Next time, Steven, next time.

Have you tried saving the file and then playing it? I used to have trouble with a lot of the videos before, too.

Next time I'm going for sub 2:30.

6 every 30s.

There's no real cons to it except I guess you could say it's not completing the whole movement (and therefore cheating). It does make the workout slightly easier though.

Since CF put that vid on the mainpage I'm definitely going to drop the negative from now on.
