Re: The Murph!!!

We need to get this 18:37 Murph on video so it can be posted on the main page.

Think of it this way: Between two 5:00 miles, 20 rounds of Cindy are done in 8:37 (46 round Cindy pace).

Re: The Murph!!!

If you click on the link for his 18:37 you can read his comment. HALF MURPH.
But still, good time with a vest on if he had one on. Again though, I am sure there is someone out there that is considered to be an ELITE Crossfitter that has beaten my time!! Anyone from Santa Cruz maybe?

Half-Murph, for sure (no vest). Sorry for any confusion.

Re: The Murph!!!

...and then you have to figure out who does it "cindy style" vs. straight through to get yet another variable

Im sure Cindy Style is easier and faster, but I don't personally think that's the way it was intended to be done when it was developed. The easer and faster way certainly wasn't Lt Murphy's way, was it?

Re: The Murph!!!

Miguel, I can't conceive of a sub-20 Murph, but I'm pulling for ya! Regarding pullups...kipping pullups are the prescribed pullup for WOD unless otherwise noted.

As for partitioning, this has been answered but keeps coming up. First of all, the workout itself says to partition however. Second of all:

He forwarded me part of the description he got from Lt. Murphy himself, and it included:

"100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups and 300 squats in any order as long as the #'s were met."

So Coach thought the Cindy-style format was fine.

Lynne, maybe this belongs in the FAQ.

John
Cindy-style, Angie-style, 1/2/3, squats first, whatever. Partition however means exactly that.

Re: The Murph!!!

Thanks Grant. I honestly dont think I can do it but optimism has alwasy played a good roll in my life!

I partitioned it Cindy style which I felt was easier. I have talked to several people with times under 30 minutes-(non weighted) that said 10-20-30 was easier because they can knock out the pullups faster that way. I think I am going to make it my New Years resolution to make claim of breaking 20 minutes in it. I of course will have to specialize in doing so but hey, a couple months dedication shouldnt slow me down too much.

I really want to attend the Crossfit Games this year!! Of course being in the military does not always offer good timing. But I will be getting out July 13th of 08!! Hopefully I can make it!
