Managed to do 40 reps with a 2 pood in the KettleBell snatch today (sets of 10 alternating, so 20 each arm for one continuous set). It was pretty easy. Had my heart rate not been near 200, I could have gotten a lot more.

After nearly passing out, did two sets of 20 pretty easy.

I love this stuff. It was after doing snatch drills (drop snatch, jump/shrug, jump/shrug/high pull), Overhead squats, regular snatch (top set was 195x3), and 8 sets of three with high bar squats.

I've got my biggest competition of the year in 16 days (ESPN Stihl Timbersports Finals), so I'm lightening the load and focusing on speed and muscular endurance.

All the best,
Arden

Nice work Arden!
I can't wait to watch the comp on ESPN! I was on the woodsmen team at WVU for a short time.
Again nice job!

Jennifer when was that? I was the coach from 92 until 97. And always went back to Morgantown for the contest the team put on during March. Just curious.

All the best,
Arden

Arden,

Have fun at the competition, and kick some butt. Normally I'd wish you luck but I think your training and competitive spirit far outweighs the need for "luck". Let us know when you'll be on TV so I can brag to my wife "I know a celebrity" ;-)

Arden, I want to say it was around 96 or 97. I was recruited by the team to go to Canada because they needed another women. I was unable to go to Canada because of work. Yet i still trained with the team for a few months. My friend Sarah was the one trying to get me to make a commitment to the team. As always I had to much going on with mountain biking, working at the bike shop and working at the hospital, not to mention I was in school.
I had so much fun for the short time I workout with the team. To bad I never go the chance to compete. Ya can't do everything....although I try!
I miss WVU! What a simple little town.

Thanks James. Far from a celebrity here. Just a silly guy who likes to play with sharp objects. I'll give it all I have and where ever it falls out, is where ever it falls out.

Jennifer, I remember Sarah. That would have been during my last few years of law school. Jeff Jones would have been the Captain of the team, I think. It's too bad we never met at one of the sessions. I always loved Morgantown and traing at the Hort. farm.

All the best,
Arden

That's insane ... nice job Arden. We'll try to catch you on TV, but I'm not sure if TSN (Canada) will be broadcasting it live.

Thanks Anthony. I don't know if it will air in Canada. Probably not until the fall. Normally, the events are tape delayed by a few months. However the results can be had at www.stihltimbersports.com at the latest news tab. That link is family and work safe.

I just ordered my bulldogs and a beast. I think I've graduated from using the chihuahua. This is gonna be fun. I love this stuff.

All the best,
Arden
