Bumpers - great service, free shipping

I just added a pair of 25lb. bumpers to my collection from pendlay. Received in two days for $99 total, no shipping costs.

Good for the cheap at heart.

Could've gotten a pair of Hi-Temps for $2/lb. and that include shipping. It might have been cheaper from Rogue.

Am i missing something?
Two 25LB bumpers delivered for $99. thats just a hair under $2.00 a pound or
$2.00 a pound from Rogue, basicly the exact same price just would depend on
which product you prefer and who's business you want to support.

Re: Bumpers - great service, free shipping

We have a some HiTemps that I just put on the Scratch and Dent page. They have never been used, I just want to clear them out because they are a different badge than our current run.

Here is the page that we are putting used, excess inventory, prior runs etc on:

Rogue Scratch & Dent wfs

We are going to be clearing some stuff out of one of our warehouses, items will be going up this week.

Bill

cool, saving them on my desktop. I'm gonna see what bars and weights cost locally but those are roughly the same prices I've heard locally not including tax.

hmm, indeed. this is nice to know.

Yea, for $1 more you could've gotten a much better product. Steel insert > brass insert. And like Bill said, could've gotten the better product (Hi-Temp) cheaper than $99.

Re: Bumpers - great service, free shipping

Rogue fitness was charging $58 for shipping. Total would have been $157 instead of just $99.

I need cheap equipment since nobody sells locally, future upgrades will be higher quality possibly from Rogue.

I appreciate the input, I'm always looking for a deal.

If it is for a garage gym/personal use, I doubt anybody is going to be putting enough reps and weight onto the bar to make a steel insert that much better. If it is getting used in an affiliate, you might see a difference, but I don't think it is as glaring as some would make it.

I have trained Olympic lifts for well over a year on bumpers with brass inserts and all are still tight, round, and intact.

Granted I'm not dumping 3-400 pounds from overhead, but 200+ routinely.

Then you should've called Hi-Temp directly.

Here's their number for future purchases.
Phone: 256-383-5066

Eventually, the brass will warp and loosen especially if you are dumping serious weight. Just trying to help you out. I mean, if the price is close, why not go with the more durable bumper.
