Sledgehammer from 2012 Games

Can anyone clarify which brand of sledgehammer used in the men's Double Banger event? What did they weigh?
I believe they are either Stanley brand or Armstrong brand. Both slegdehammers are bright orange. After examining pics, I think they are Stanley brand. Can anybody confirm?
Thanx!

They're definitely Stanleys. The Armstrongs are a little more to the red side of the spectrum, and the knob on the end of the handle isn't as big. I can't find any indication as to the size. My guess would be 20# for the guys and probably 12# for the ladies.

Re: Sledgehammer from 2012 Games

If I remember correctly the hamnmers were lighter than I expected. I think they were either 8/12 or 10/12. I haven't seen it since that weekend but I do recall for sure that they mentioned the weight of the hammers after Jeff Castro announced the WOD It was in the next segment. One of the analysts went into the Rogue tent and showed everything a bit closer up.

I'm pretty sure it was 10 and 12 because I recall being surprised how little difference there was between them.

The weights were

Men - 10.5 hitting a 175LB sled

Women - 8 hitting a 115LB sled

We are working on making the sleds so you can hit them across the pavement without a tray, much more affordable!

Hope that helps

Bill

Thank you Christopher, Patrick and Bill!
Bill thanks for the official info.
Can't wait for the sled bangers to come out. They will be awesome for my backyard set up!

Looking forward to that new rogue equipment Bill! I wouldn't have room for the tray.
