More fish oil questions...

I currently take 1 tbsp of carlsons per day and I was reading in the archives about people switching in the summer months due to excessive vitamin D coupled with sun exposure...I was looking for a good substitute and came across Biotests Flame Out. I was thinking of purchasing this and using it. What are everyone's thoughts? I would post the t-nation link but it's most likely not considered safe for these forums...

Carlsons cod liver oil has allot more D than their regular fish oil, so make sure you use the regular fish oil during the summer.

Right, that's what I was getting at. So I was thinking of switching to the flameout product for the summer...is the regular carlsons fish oil lemon flavored? Is that what you use in the summer or do you use another product (if so, which)?

I've been using Flameout for about three months and I swear by it. I've changed a lot of other things, but I truly believe it's a great product. My total choloestrol has dropped 25 points since introducing it into my diet. My bodyfat has dropped at least 4 percent. I just feel better too. Overall weight is down about seven or eight pounds.

I believe in the product. Plus, I can't stand to drink fish oil. I just can't do it anymore.

All the best,
Arden

Ari- Yes- Take Carlson's Fish Oil in the summer. You want to stay away from CLO (Cod Liver Oil) in the summer because of the Vitamin D aspect.

Carlsons' makes both Fish Oil and CLO. You want the Fish oil during the coming months.

Arden,

I've already read about your enthusiasm for the product, it's what first pointed me in the right direction. I was also interested to hear other people's opinions. How many caps do you take per day?

If you work inside, the vitamin D is unlikely to be an issue. I use both fish and cod liver oils throughout the year as I work inside and I wear long-sleeve buttonups to work, so even my 1/4 mile walk each way doesn't give me much sun exposure.

What about the Dr Sears fish oil, I know it is kind of pricey, that is the one my daughters pediatrician recommended. Is anyone taking it and what are your thoughts on it?

I do Cod Liver year round. I have had no signs of vitamin D toxicity and I am not even approaching levels that cause problems. I take 1 tablespoon a day.
