Exercise Journal for Crossfit

Hi all, question 2, what does everyone use for an exercise journal for Crossfit? I like to use the web or a paper journal, but I would like to see the formats people use to track their progress. thanks

Re: Exercise Journal for Crossfit

I note my numbers at the gym on my cell phone, then when I get home I put them on the computer. I use a note-taking program, with separate notes for my daily log and for each PR/stat (when I add to them, I just paste in the notes from that day, so I have the context, details, and date as well). Each workout includes what was rx'd, what I actually did, weights, times, miscellaneous stuff, and notes on how it felt, problems, mindset, and aches and pains. I also give a numerical score to the Intensity (metcon) and Difficulty (muscular).

It's sort of a middle ground between a notebook and an indexed database. Maybe I'll move to the latter eventually... it might be cool to be able to manipulate the data to that degree.

Re: Exercise Journal for Crossfit

I keep an excel sheet and keep updates on www.logsitall.com (safe link). Also, i reply to the WOD posting in the comments. Posting in the comments is a nice backup for when you do something silly like overwrite your excel sheet and save

Re: Exercise Journal for Crossfit

Kevin, I love your idea!

Maybe I'm the exception but I don't log. I'm completely sold on the effectiveness of the WODs so much so that I don't worry about my progress. How I feel and the comments I receive from friends and family let me know things are going very well.

I know I'm on a rock-solid path and that's enough for me.

www.logsitall.com is great, you can compare your standings to other CFers as well.
