Re: protien powder

whey, soy, rice...it's all good...
I vary so as to not all-one-basket, so to speak. I do go organic where I can...

Re: protien powder

i recommend using whey protein. It is the fastest absorbing protein and that is what you want after a workout. I am using the creamy vanilla flavor with 2 cups of milk and it taste pretty good. If you want the best tasting protein shake, muscle milk is great. The cookies and cream flavor mixed with milk tastes exactly like a real milk shake. But it does have a high amount of fat, which is not ideal after a workout. So for performance, go for whey. For taste, muscle milk

Re: protien powder

I apologize for being sloppy and just posting a link without any explanation (I really should have been working on something else). In any event, this is a long discussion about taste, preferences, etc. Hope it helps.

Re: protien powder

I guess it is all personal. I am using protein for post workout drink only and prefer whole food during the day. I am taking natural flavor (brand doesn't matter much as long as it is pure whey isolate and not concentrate, also I am trying to avoid harmful sweeteners of flavored powders) mix it with some frozen berries, fruits and orange juice (pulp), nothing can be better after hard workout. Some would argue that fructose is not a good source of sugar for post workout shake because it mostly replenishes liver glycogen and doesn't work in muscles, but I just don't think it is healthy to take loads of corn sugar to reduce cortisol level.
