Re: Liz's log

At home:
15 slow minutes of double under practice. These were terrible. I want to get a rogue rope like what I use at the gym. My trouble with the speed rope at home seems to be that I lose tension on the rope as it swings....there isn't enough weight there for me to sustain it or something. My form today was terrible. So tense! One of the many problems with double unders is that it hurts SO much to fail.

Pull-ups x 1
jumpingx1
BWx1
+5lbsx1
+10lbsx1
+15lbsx1
+20lbsxF
+20lbs xF for reals

I put weights in a tote bag, and put the tote bag around my shoulder to do the weighted pull-ups.

Then, met-con: Running:
1 min on, 1 min off, 1 min on, 50 secs off, 1 min on, 40 secs off, 1 min on 30 secs, off, 1 min on, 20 off, 1 min on, 10 off, 1 min on

I tried to count number of times around the part, but that was too much for my brain to handle.

The next couple of days are going to be craaaazy. My schedule is packed. Tomorow morning I hope to have time to deadlift really fast betwen 7-7:30 on my own. Thursday I would like to make it in at 6am, but I will have to see how I'm doing. Same deal with Friday morning. One day at a time....

Re: Liz's log

Well, a rough couple of weeks behind me. I didn't do much in the way of exercise. I'm glad to be back.

Monday, September 12, 2012

Front squat with 1 second pause at bottomx3:

95x3
115x3
125x3
135x3
145x3
155x3
155x3
155x3
155x2 F on 3
145x3

Then team met-con of rowing and push-pressing 53lbs. I got 70something push presses. My rows were kind of lame-ish but ok.

Tuesday, September 13, 2012

Floor pressx3
65x3
85x3
105x3
105x3
115x1, F on 2. My R shoulder couldn't maintain a stable position.
105x3
95x3

Then, met-con of single arm ring rows 10/side and suitcase walking lunges 16kg 20/arm. DNF for me. My legs were just shot and I didn't want to cripple myself. The ring rows were really tough on my R arm. This tells me that I need to do them more often.

I plan on getting focused again on my various goals. Just not yet!

Re: Liz's log

Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012

I'm not liking Wednesdays. I don't like to broad jump because it brings up bad hamstring stuff for me. I have to be VERY warmed up to feel confident jumping and that usually doesn't happen. Maybe I should try jumping rope or something before class instead of rolling out. I'm also feeling the hamstring issues when deadlifting, which makes me

I broad jumped arond 82", so

Deadlift x 3. I worked up to 125x3

Then,
AMRAP in 10 minutes: 1 Kettlebell (1.5 pood) Turkish Get Up 1 rep = Left AND Right), 5 1 pood KB presses/arm

Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012

4:30, with Greg in attendance!

Squat cleans: 2 every minute on the minute. Worked up to 125lbs, then worked back down. My back was pretty fatigued.

Supinated grip pull-upx2 every minute on the minute: worked up to BW, then worked back down b/c it was slow

Then, 5 Rounds of: 30 second Handstand Hold, 30 second Side Plank Hold, 30 second Side Plank Hold, 30 second Front Plank Hold

I only did 3 rounds d/t endurance class starting. My R shoulder was very fatigued during this.

Friday, Sept. 14, 2012

Rest

Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012

On my own before the day started:

Backsquat x 3

I don't remember what I got to here. I think it was 205
Then I tried double unders again. Oh dear. Very frustrating. Two weeks off and it is like starting all over again.

Sunday, Sept 16, 2012

Rest

Monday, Sept 17, 2012

Front squat x 1
95x1
115x1
135x1
145x1
155x1
165x1
175x1
185x1

Happy with this! Not a PR, but best in recent times. I really liked the front squatting we did this cycle. I think it helped me to work on the pause in sets of three. This was also the day that I made it to the most over the crazy period.

METABOLIC CONDITIONING:
3 Rounds for time of: 10 American KB Swings (1.5), 30 steps of a Walking Lunge, 30 Double Unders
I don't remember my time. I do remember that before starting the met-con I strung together 5 doubel unders and felt like it was coming back to me. Then I tried to do DUs after the met-con and it was terrible. One at a time. Oh well, glad to practice.

Tuesday, Sept 18, 2012

Floor press x 1

65x1
85x1
95x1
105x1
115x1
125x1
135x1

Met-Con:

50 box jumps (24")! with 5 push-ups every minute on the minute. These were supposed to be clapping PUs, but the landing was bothering my wrist. I'm spending ALL my time writing while studying for my exam, and I'm having some sharp-ish pains in my R 1st dorsal compartment. Glad to do 24".

Wednesday, Sept 19, 2012

My nemesis day: Same broach jump as always. Deadlift was 225x1. R knee was caving.

Met-Con: 1K row: 3.55.something 9? I think my PR is 3.52.something, but this is cool. I love to row. It is so incredible frustrating!

Thursday, Sept 20, 2012

Squat clean x 1 every minute on the minute: worked up to 138. It felt light! My form got a little wonky wth it--I didn't nail the landing as well as I could. But I recovered. This makes me want to get back to Oly!

Supinated pull-up: up to BW+10lbs. Not a PR, but much better than I thought I would do

Then I practice double unders.

I will never ever again try and log more than a couple of days at a time! Whew!
