Friday, April 23, 2010: Rest day/work a whole lot

Box jumps: got up to 2 45 plates

85x3
105x3
125x1
135x1
145x1
155x1
165x1
175x1

Peak set. Went up much faster than I expected. I don't think this is a PR, but it is a PR for speed.

Met con:

Way to BACK SQUAT, WOMAN!

Really hope classes don't crush you in conjunction with teaching at CFCC this weekend... let me know if I can give you a break in any way, woman!

Rest/take crazy exam

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Fight Gone Bad:

Thrusters: 30, 20, 20
SDHP: 20, 15, 16
Box: 13, 13, 12
PP: 20 ,15, 12
row: 14, 13, 13

Total:246

Not very happy with with. Box jumps felt really bad and slow. I feel like that twitch/activation/jump reflex/whatever has just burned out. Happy with my row, however.

Compare to:

Fight Gone Bad.

I think I did this as Rx'ed, except for SB thruster?

Thruster (25lb sb): 26, 22, 21
Sumo (65lb): 16, 13, 11
Box (22in?): 17, 18, 16
PP (45lb): 18, 14, 15
row: 11, 10, 11

Total: 235

Sumos were brutal. Shoulders on fire. Back still tired from deadlifts on Sunday and 50lbs sandbag push press on Monday. Really felt the lower back fatigue during the sumos. Need to work on narrowing stance in push press and not jumping up on my toes--keep the weight on the heel.

Sleep: 8 hours, rest 9 hours

Zone: I was so hungry yesterday. I ended up adding lots of extra fat at lunch. Mainly because I have a big tube of cashews at my desk but no other extra food. This is not a good idea because after I up the fat blocks I GET SO TIRED. Like, DEAD, eyes shut, not even starbucks is gonna move me. Does anyone else experience this? I thought that carbs were supposed to cause drowsiness. I'm talking a lot of extra fat too.....like total of 6 blocks of cashews, so 3 extra blocks. I did not have any fat with bfast this morning and instead had an extra carb block, so I will get double the fat again at lunch today but have not had any yet today. Maybe this will help with afternoon hunger? Felt like I needed CARBS, NOW, after FGB.

Re: Liz's log

You're doing great liz. Even if box jumps didn't feel great, you still improved from your previous score. Also, the workout is almost never just about the workout. Everything else in your life plays a factor in your performance on any given day. Exams and studying, even if they lead to more "rest" days, are definitely not restful for your body and mind. Just keep going....you're kicking butt!!!!

Re: Liz's log

I just would like to say... that Niveen and Liz were a little nutty this AM... and Niveen edged past Liz by just a bit... which, I think (even though she was using different movements) usually makes ME feel like EVERYTHING I did was not good enough... that is to say... being beaten (even by someone using different movements) makes me feel like I suck.

All that said - you owned, Liz. That's a good score... a GREAT score. 250 is good... 300 is like elite.
