Front squats

45x10, 65x3, 75x3, 85x3, 95x3, 105x3, 125x3, 125x3

Late night last night but I still did pretty well. I'm told that I have a "chicken neck" with this and need to keep my eyes ahead. Then I saw a picture and saw what I was doing. Yep, chicken neck!

Re: Liz's log

Today was supposed to be that crazy pull-up WOD. We worked on pull-ups, but a little differently.

On the light band:

total 20 reps, as many sets as necessary
6,4,3,2,2,1,1,1

On the green band:

total 50 reps, as many sets as necessary

14,7,10,9,6,4

I am so psyched about the light band work! This was my first time on that light band.

Push Press

Warm-up
Ran to gym with my backpack and lunch bag full of my heavy crap. Woot! Needed something to balance out all of the strength work I have been doing this week.

65 5x5x5x5x5

I have push 65 before, but never this much!

Feeling good!

Re: Liz's log

Thanking myself, duh.

Grace

7:40 ish?

15 50lb 15 25 lbs

Should have continued with the 50lbs bag and stopped worrying about time and just gotten it done. Instead I dropped to 25lbs, got totally frustrated and went to the other gym to bang out another workout.

Grace, take 2
45lbs bar 3:14 or 40 or something
Made up met con

5 rounds of 45 secs on, 45 secs rest

row
box jump
kettleball swing

Nice.

Re: Liz's log

4 sets 800m run, each for time

1. 4:41--I got this one a little whacked because I forgot where the stopped point was.

2. 4:01 Damn bus got in my way. Urban cross-fit!

3. 3:55 Back on it!

4. 3:54 This is more like it.

Weight has been creeping up, up, up for the past couple of day. Hrmm. Been kind of close to zone, which is what I was the past few weeks too. I guess that the honeymoon is over.

Re: Liz's log

You did awesome! Watching you disappear into the distance was a great motivator, as was the fear of you lapping me!

Did you ever time this kind of a run when you were doing marathons? Does running short and fast seem like even the same exercise as running long and slower?

Re: Liz's log

Lap! Ha! Whatever keeps you motivated.

I would do speed work while marathon training. Course, the "short fast" distance was a mile back then, not an 800. It seems like a totally different beast because even when running the timed miles, it was always about getting mileage in....so we still jogged 800 after each mile just to see the distance up. Anyway, D, you are the inspiration! Your time has dropped like crazy!

Back squat

5-5-5-5-5

100 for first set
115 for last 4 sets

Woot. Back squats are fun!
