For the past 2 months I have been doing handstand push-ups(wall supported; nose to floor) and pull-ups(non kipping) 5-6 days per week. From doing this I was able to go from doing 13 reps of each, to 21 reps of each.

My strength is almost identical in terms of reps for each exercise, so I always do the same amount of reps for each.

Today, instead of going straight to my usual exercises, I worked up to a max in a hang power clean + push press (165). When I started my hspu, I blasted through 25 reps like they were no problem!

Now what I was wondering was why would oly lifting have such an effect on a non-related movement? In terms of recovery I haven't backed off at all lately, and my workout yesterday left me kind of frazzled, while only hitting a moderate set of 19.

Any input would be great.

See if the same thing happens with snatch & pull-ups.

Honestly, I don't think my post made a whole lot of sense; I composed it late one night after a long day at work, and it didn't really have anything to do with what I was thinking. I tried to have it removed so I could create a more coherent topic, but it is still here. Yipee.
