Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Day One, WOW!!!

Okay, I knew this was going to be a challenge but I have to say I am very disappointed at how out of shape I am. I know I'll get stronger and my cardio will improve with time and diligence, but WOW!!!

Today was day one and I took someone’s advice and actually started with a workout from a few cycles back. The workout was supposed to be "Fight Gone Bad!" I had to adjust due to no rowing machine and no box. Ended up doing the following:

Two Rounds of

Wall-ball, 11 pound ball (heaviest one they had) 1st round - 23, 2nd round - 18
Sumo-deadlift high-pull, 75lbs 1st round 15, 2nd round 10
push-press, 75lbs 1st round 15, 2nd round 3

Couldn't do round three, I was smoked!!! Well, everyone has to start somewhere and luckily, I know my body well enough to know that I should progress quickly. I have to say that I am very thankful for these boards, as all of your posts/comments will help me stay motivated. More to come...

I remember my first Fight Gone Bad. I remember sitting on the box, head between my knees, thinking " I can't see the floor..... where is the ground......mommy....."

My first day was "Linda" - the three bars of death. I pulled a muscle in my back towards the beginning of the workout and I was out of commission for about 10 days.

I just did "Fight Gone Bad" the other day - wow, it was brutal.

My very first WOD was a hevy set gal and she went by the name "Fran" Let me tell you she didnt look to be that bad of an animal to tame. Now I have learned that you must have lots of respect for ALL of these ladies on here. And the HEROES huh well I shouldnt even have to explain myself.

Just keep on doing the wods asrx'd as much as possible and before you know it you will be bustin down the gate. Eat right and get plenty of rest and it will happen.

Funny FGB was my first as well... didn't make 5 rounds! Did "Barbara" today and I don't know which is worse! Couldn't see straight when I was finished and had a massive headache! Not enough O2 ....

I did my first FGB this week to and it is brutal.
