Summary,

- Shawn Sherk dominated Kenny Florian
- Franklin had his a@@ handed to him in a quick knock out, by Anderson Silva.

Good show all in all.

How about the Silva "Spider Web" Muay Thai clinch that Franklin had NO defense for?? WOW. Totally unexpected. He had that thing LOCKED in and Rich was racked. Again, WOW.

Thanks for the update, I missed the fights but Franklin getting beat was not a total suprise. His conditioning carried him in many O fights, obviously not last night.

I don't think Silva looked that good. I think Rich just looked really bad. He looked sickly before the fight (Skinny, pale, and weak), even his wife looked far more nervous than usual. Rich was definitely not himself.

Wow... I saw the special on Silva and he had serious power on his kicks to a bag....Franklin was like a dolphin in a tuna net...just hanging on....impressive...

I have no idea why Rich didn't try to escape. It would be one thing if he tried and failed, but man, I didn't see a single attempt.

And wouldn't it be scary to fight Sherk? The strength of a pitbull and the conditioning to match. Wow!

Sherk was very good...he really just does not stop. I was watching the fight with a friend of mine and we both agreed, he takes you down and then just starts at ankles and works up, hitting whatever is there for him to hit. The slam he gave Kenflo at the end was savage...i think he was a tad annoyed because he knew he had Kenny off the ground and must have been holding the fence. If you watch the fight you can see him smile a litte just before he turns and slams him.

As for Rich, yeah...he looks flat, pale, weak and slow, just seemed to be missing his usual zest or something. I know everyone is harping on about how he was "exposed" and so forth, but i will always be a fan. Anyone who can face 24 men and be better than 22 of them is deserving of respect in my book.

Finally, his instincts are unreal, watch the end of the fight, after he takes that knee that broke his nose and has to back off ( if you've ever taken a blow to the nose, let alone one that would break it that badly you know you can't see a thing ) he still see's the kick coming and gets his hands up, and still ducks the left hook of the Spider....now THATS is instinctive fighting at it's best.

I expect this to be a defininf moment for Rich, he will either fade away now, or come back stronger than ever.
