G'day, ladies and gentlmen.

In yesterday's WoD comments area I noticed a lot of USAF personnel talking about Crossfit. I'd be interested in getting everyone together in a mailing list or blog or something to help us coordinate the 'revolution,' if you will. Any takers?

I thought the only people in the USAF who PT'ed were combat controler's and PJ's.

(just kidding)

Nah, the wannabe OSI do it too :-)

I heard a great deal of concern in terms of if the AF adopted crossfit, there would be too many regulations as they would be responsible for the Airmen involved.

Seems like a valid concern.

How about rather than pushing the AF to adopt crossfit, we push for the resources at the gym to regulate it ourselves? Such as kettle bells, more pullup bars, climbing rope, etc.

Good point Mike! I didn't think about it that way. So far I've been incredibly blessed - the people responsible for 'fitness' stuff have pretty much just looked at what I've said and replied with "Okay. Run with it."

I think to get the equipment we'd have to already have a large base of Xfitters or have it implemented service-wide. Right as I started Crossfit, the big gym on base spent $100,000+ on...yep...Nautilus machines. *sigh* The aquisition side of the house seems to be going with what is popular, not beneficial, but I'm about to rant so I'll hush now.

Jeff....ha! :p

Count me in for fellow USAFers! That would rock to get a better PT program, closer to CF workouts and maybe in time we will...glad we got away from ergo ...one step at a time.
