Today I got confirmation from one of my CrossFitters that not only has he been wounded - recovering well - but he lost two team members while a third member was wounded in action as well.

Let's take a moment and offer up our prayers and support for these men and their families....

Major Jim Ahearn KIA 5 July
Sgt. Keith Kline KIA 5 July
Sgt. Sammy Lugo WIA 5 July
SSgt. Joe Roberts WIA 5 July 2007

Comment from Joe, "Lugo and Ahearn both came to class with me for the morning classes. Lugo and myself are the first WIA's from the 96th CA in Iraq. Ahearn is the first KIA from 96th CA since it's activation I believe."

I got to meet Jim and Sammy because Joe got them to come in at o'dark thirty with him for close to four months.... They are sorely missed.

*Note, all family members have been notified and this breaches no security issues.*

I salute our fallen brothers...warriors in every sense of the word...I can assure you that I do not take their deaths lightly...our country owes them and their families a great deal...it is bad enough that spouses, girlfriends, and family have to deal with the loss, but it is the children who have lost a father that I feel for the most...I think too many in our country do not appreciate the sacrifice that our warriors and their families make... Thank you to all of our brother warriors!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with families and friends of these brave fighting men we've lost, and the wounded warriors, also.
