Rogue Jump Rope

Picked one up today at the store...

It's awesome.. Looks great and has a good weight/feel to it. Black handles with red cable.. Red cable will match the red welts on your legs if you're DU's look like mine.

This thing spins like no other jump rope I've seen. I usually use the speed wire rope Rogue sells; before that, it was the old Duvide brand ones they had.

Anyways, awesome rope. Go buy it and enjoy.

Re: Rogue Jump Rope

I ordered one too. It's like the AF rope but has long enough handles to get a good whip. I think it's gonna be perfect.

Re: Rogue Jump Rope

Have you by chance tried the new RX rope? I just got one and it's way too short. My measurements were spot on as the company directed but again its just way too short. So thinking of trying the new Rogue rope instead of continuing with trial and error sizing the Rx correctly.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

James

Re: Rogue Jump Rope

Sorry, I've never used the RX ropes so I can't comment. I'm 6'1 and had to adjust it about an inch down to have both handles come to my armpit, standing on the rope with 1 foot.

Re: Rogue Jump Rope

yeah I've noticed w/ a rope that spins really fast like the AF ropes, I need to shorten it considerably. I suspect w/ this rope I may need a little extra length b/c the handles are a bit longer. Maybe an extra inch or two.

Re: Rogue Jump Rope

I just ordered one today and am very excited to use it. Bearings! Long handles! Adjustable!

My first rope was similar, but handles were short and no bearings. Was great for the first few jumps and then it tangled.

Second rope was a Rogue RX rope. Tried all the cable diameters. Handles too short, and just never liked it. I think my cable length is too long.

James,

Dave Newman at RX Jump Ropes will swap that cable out for you. I'm 5'11" and used his measuring system of adding 3'-0". It ended up working very well for me and my double under speed and accuracy have really improved over the past few months. And, like I mentioned, the nice thing about Dave's ropes is that he will swap your first cable out if you ask.

Maybe give the rope a second chance? I find the handles are more comfortable and the different cable selections give you the opportunity to 'graduate' as your skill improves. Further...I've found his cables last longer.

My $.02

Really? I've had my Rx rope for around 2 months and although I do like it, the plastic on the cable has already worn through and is showing metal on the middle foot of the rope. This is with jumping roping solely on rubber gym mats as well.

Re: Rogue Jump Rope

I have the again faster revolution rope.

How does this compare? I'm still on my first cable (came with two) and I think it will last a long time. I'm fairly pleased with it but seem to have plateaud with DUs. That's my fault really...not the ropes'.
