Favorite Workout Music

Hello everyone!

Just thought it would be interesting to see what music everyone likes to listen to when they are lifting. I am definitely a metal guy, so here are some of my favorites:

1. "Walk" by Pantera. This song is almost always blasting in my garage when it is time to set a PR on squat or DL. It gets me in the mood to lift heavy things and yell loudly. Interestingly enough, this is the song I listened to every day before I went on mission while deployed...

2. "Heart Attack America" by Bronxx. This is usually playing while I'm gutting it out during Fran/Cindy/etc. Nice pace, nice vocals, gets me motivated.

3. "Uplift" by Pantera. This is also pretty common during metcons, but also I love this one for "traditional cardio." I know, traditional cardio is the devil. But I am in the Army and have to do long, slow, boring runs.

4. Metallica. Just about anything. For just about any workout. The older the better. "Master of Puppets" is particularly tasty, as is "For Whom the Bell Tolls." "Sad But True" is pretty good for heavy squats.

Just my humble opinion. I know that this might not exactly be fitness related, but I can honestly say that I work harder if I have some good tunes shaking the garage. So I consider it to be a "supplement" that actually works.

Re: Favorite Workout Music

I switch back and forth from hard rock to soundtracks. Lately I've been addicted to the Transformers soundtrack.

When I listen to hard rock, my favorites are:
Metallica - Some Kind of Monster
Chevelle - I Get It
Black Stone Cherry - Rain Wizard
Black Stone Cherry - Shooting Star
Hellyeah - You Wouldn't Know
Rage Against the Machine - Renegades of Funk
My Chemical Romance - This Is How I Disappear
Buckcherry - Crazy B****

just to name a few....

Re: Favorite Workout Music

I like a steady stream of dropkick murphys and flogging molly, sometimes some MxPx, Chiodos.

But pre-competition I prefer mellow music to calm the nerves. Eisley, Sixpence, The Honorary Title, etc.

Rammstein--Mein Hertz Brennt
Papa Roach--Getting Away With Murder
Anything by the Sex Pistols
Anything by Rage Against the Machine

Re: Favorite Workout Music

Lots of dropkick, ACDC, tons of Tool, NIN, rob Zombie, pretty much all the time. Also some rise against, Linkin Park, 3 days grace every now and then.

Re: Favorite Workout Music

We listened to Girl Talk during a particularly metcon-ish tabata workout. It worked out pretty well with the tune constantly changing

Re: Favorite Workout Music

Well I'm usually a classic rock/country guy, but I can't handle it when lifting or METCON, gotta be harder.
Anything from Hatebreed, Pantera, or Deftones does the trick nicely. Get's me pretty pumped, ready to drown kittens in whole milk (not litterally kitten lovers).
squat deep, smash kittens
My Log Not WFS cause I have potty mouth
