Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

Tovar is just known for the tiny shorts she always wears so people obviously want to see her squatting.

Anyway, I was watching the behind the scenes video for 14.2 earlier and heard something interesting. Bill Henniger of Rogue said he isn't told by Castro what the WODs are, so he just brings enough equipment for six people to do every possible movement to each event. So that explains why there is always tons of equipment they don't need shown in the background I guess.

RE a possible Open workout... At L1 Certs last summer we did this metcon with thrusters and burpees. Sucked just as much as Fran.

Just sayin....

1.) You *couldn't care less.

2.) How is it the worst programming ever?

My guess for 14.3:

AMRAP-15
150 box jumps
60 T2B
10 MU

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

Might as well guess. Based on what we haven't seen yet, I'm going to go with:

7 rds for time

6 Deadlifts @ 155/95
9 Wall Balls
12 Box Jumps

The key word here is competing. Many people think the open is all about community and "we all get to have a fair shot." The community is part of it, as it is part of all things Crossfit. However, the operative word in your quote above is COMPETING. The open is about competition. It is merely the 1st stage of a 3 stage competition. Therefore, the open is not simply about "seeing where I am amongst the community" and "I don't care about the competition part, I just wanted to see how I did." If that is the case, then don't sign up for the open. Just do the workout on your own, knowing that you suck at certain movements and no one has to know. No coach has to judge you, no video needs to be made and certainly - no long drawn out b!tch session/forum post about how the open doesn't cater to you needs to be made. You just do what you can and call it a day - on your own. The moment you sign up for the open, you are competing - whether you admit it or not. In this case, you want to be a part of it all yet you aren't ready to compete and you're mad about it. As it should be. Some people win, others lose. That is part of competition - regardless of how exclusive or inclusive it tries to be. You lost. Grow up and move on.

Crossfit's fitness if you will is about how good are you at many different things. They are perfectly indicative of your fitness as it relates to Crossfit. You learned you suck at DUs and OHs, meaning its a weakness in your fitness. Period. So remind me again how it doesn't represent your fitness? Anyone can run right? But if you run a 12 minute mile, its a weakness. DUs and OH Squat are skill and mobility right? They are a massive component of fitness. You have your eggs all mixed up my friend. Fitness is not just metabolic capacity and strength.

What you're saying is just like this: "I don't like the heavy deadlifts in that workout. I am strong enough and I know I am fit enough but I just couldn't hold on to that weight with a thick bar. Crossfit is about fitness, not my grip. This is BS!".

give me a break. work on your work, admit your failures and your weaknesses, train them diligently and smash through them. That is what Crossfit is about - not hoping that stage 1 of a competition highlights the stuff you prefer...

I still can't believe you say this isn't about my fitness. Is Froning complaining about OH Squats and DUs? Guess what, its probably because as Crossfit is concerned, he is more fit than you...

and oh ya, no disrespect meant as it seems like I'm poking at you but the whole Crossfit community we are better than them (insert Bodybuilder, bicep curls, powerlifter, specialist, bench presser, globo gym guy here) is getting a bit...let's just say hypocrital and off-putting with all this "WHAAA I don't like these movements in OUR Crossfit competition thing." You said yourself,

...so don't you come out on top and win in this case. What is the problem here? That is always the goal. Perspective man..perspective.

Stop guessing RFT people, the Open is always nothing but AMRAPS!

My achilles feels a little sore just reading that. I'll take your 60 T2B and 10MU, but not so many box jumps in a row, please.

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

I'm going with two rounds of DT at increasing weights (starting at 115) with 20 bar facing burpees after each round of two
