Hatch Squat Cycle (Outlaw Question)

I've been reading up on the Hatch Squat Cycle and know that Outlaw started a cycle Dec of last year. As I went through the archives, it made sense except for one thing and was hoping someone could answer:

Why did he have some of the Back squats be low bar and some high bar? (It seemed like the high bar were mainly the lighter session for the week if at all. Was it just to keep Oly lift form in balance?)

I thought you'd pick one and stick with it through the 12 weeks. I will be starting a cycle soon and had planned to just do HBBS. Thoughts on this as well?

Thanks,
Brian

Re: Hatch Squat Cycle (Outlaw Question)

i Just asked the same question in the thread titled ''the outlaw way'' right above yours. Theres a lot more traffic there and a lot of outlaws post there frequently so it wil probably be answered there sooner.

Re: Hatch Squat Cycle (Outlaw Question)

Thanks Evan. I saw that thread, but actually your question is different. I don't want to know why he said LBBS unless otherwise stated. I want to know why he is swapping in HBBS in some places in the Hatch cycle and what the reasoning was.

Re: Hatch Squat Cycle (Outlaw Question)

I think it was due to the amount of OLY lifting we were also doing, so getting a lot of squat cleans in and also front squatting. If it was all HBBS then we would end up very quad dominant. We also don't do to much deadlift work other than in metcons so the LBBS is used to work our posterior chain.

Re: Hatch Squat Cycle (Outlaw Question)

But the outlaw trademark is pulls all the time

Anyway I guess you could just test both and then base percentages off both all the way yjrough depending on the protocol.

I get what your saying though.
